I watched 800 people spend $24K on books

Over the last three months, our paid media fell off a cliff.
It wasn't working how it had been working.
So I had two options:
Say "this is dead" and let it go
Figure out how to make it work again
I chose option 2.
I spent $60,000 on coaches and courses trying to fast-track the learning process.
I wanted to know: What are people doing that are spending over a million dollars a month on Meta ads... profitably?
Not venture capital companies that don't care about making money.
But actual profitable businesses spending seven figures per month on ads and making MORE than they spend.
Three months and $60k later, I found the secret.

💰 The Million-Dollar Secret
The secret is... high ticket.
That's it.
They just charge high enough prices that they can be super sloppy with their media and still make a profit.
If you're selling a private jet for millions of dollars, you can reach 10,000 people, get 10,000 leads, convert ONE of them, and the whole funnel is profitable.
Not exciting for someone like me who loves the low-ticket world.
I want low-ticket recurring SaaS. So I'm doomed, right?
Wrong.
I reshaped the question: How can I make low-ticket feel like high-ticket?
And then Alex Hormozi did something brilliant.

📚 The Alex Hormozi Masterclass
Hormozi launched his book—a classic low-ticket commodity.
Books are NOT high-ticket. They're fundamentally low-ticket.
But he got me (and 800 other people) to spend $24,000 on books.
Let me say that again: $24,000. For books.
Here's how the funnel actually worked:
The Setup: Reframe the Purchase
First, Hermozi positioned buying books in bulk as donating them to entrepreneurs who couldn't afford them.
You weren't just buying for yourself. You were funding someone else's education. Tax-deductible philanthropy disguised as a book purchase.
The Initial Offer: $6,000
Buy 200 books at $30 each = $6,000
"Donate 200 copies to aspiring entrepreneurs."
The book itself? Free on Spotify. You're literally just paying to print and distribute physical copies to people who need them.
The Upsell: $18,000
Then came the real pitch:
"Donate 600 additional books for $18,000, and I'll put you in a room with everyone else who spent $24,000."
Total: 800 books donated. Total cost: $24,000.
No phone call. No consultation.
Just access to a private group of 800 people who didn't blink at spending $24k on a "philanthropic" book purchase.
Complete status play.
The pitch wasn't "buy my book."
It was "join the community of people generous enough to donate hundreds of books AND wealthy enough to do it without a second thought."
He sold hundreds of us on it. And none of us think it was a bad deal.
Why? Because Hermozi wasn't selling books or even a course.
He was selling something worth more than money.

🎯 How to Turn Your Low-Ticket Offer Into High-Ticket
If you want to turn a low-ticket commodity into a high-ticket success, you need to sell something more valuable than money.
There are five things more valuable than money:
1. Time
Would you take $1M but die tomorrow? No
Would you give up every dime to time travel back 20 years? Most people would
Starbucks has 20-50x higher lifetime value than other coffee shops because they sell TIME (drive-through, mobile order, convenience)
2. Health
You're gravely ill tomorrow? You'd give everything to fix it
Family member has cancer? Every dime you have wouldn't be enough
3. Relationships
All the money but you lose everyone you love? No one takes that deal
Get more time with lost loved ones? Who wouldn't pay for that?
4. Status
All the money in the world but everyone hates you? Pass
Hormozi sold status: access to a room of other high-performers
That's why 800 people paid $24k for "books"
5. Core Values
Hormozi framed it as "donating books" to help others
Aligned with his multi-year mission: make world-class business education available to everyone
Made buyers feel like they were part of something bigger

Your Move This Week:
Look at your low-ticket offer.
Ask yourself:
1. Which of these five can you add?
Time savings?
Health improvement?
Relationship building?
Status elevation?
Values alignment?
2. Can you subsidize the relationship?
Make it feel free (like "donate books, get course free")
Add bonuses that make the core offer feel like a steal
3. What's the REAL thing they want?
Hormozi didn't sell books. Nobody wanted 200 books
He sold the course and community. Books were just the wrapper.
The secret isn't charging more.
It's bundling your commodity with things people actually value more than money.
