Resolutions are OUT for 2025 đ
Wanna know whatâs in for 2025?
Scrolling down to the end of this email to claim the exclusive training we brought out of the vault just for you⌠before it expires in 3 days đââď¸
Sustainable skill-building.
As an entrepreneur, youâve probably already set some mighty revenue and growth goals for the year (or youâre in the process of doing this).
But I tend to discourage folks from âhyping upâ the new year with too many resolutionsâŚ
Hereâs why: Trends prove that hyperfocusing on a new year transformation is a recipe for disappointing results. đ¤ˇ
In fact, a Forbes Health/One Poll survey revealed that more than half of Americans abandon their New Yearâs resolutions within the first three months.
So, we're doing something different this year.
Iâm talkinâ seesaws, wheelbarrows, and broomsâŚ
Sounds like a yard work list, right? Well, they're about to become your new business strategy go-tos.
Stick with me here because understanding these 3 things can dramatically shift how you grow your business and your bank account in 2025.
Today in 5 minutes or less:
âď¸ Seesaws, wheelbarrows, brooms⌠oh my!
âď¸ 3 skills to grow in 2025
Letâs talk leverage. Not all leverage is created equal, and understanding this can be a game-changer for your business.
Think of leverage as a tool. It can be a seesaw, a wheelbarrow, or even a broom. Each represents a different approach to gaining leverage in your business and life. The trick is to pick the right tool for the right job.
Seesaws: The Balance of Give and Take
A seesaw is a classic example of a simple lever. It teaches us the balance of give and take.
In business, this translates to negotiations, partnerships, and customer relationships.
Like a seesaw, it's about finding equilibrium where both parties benefit. It's a delicate balance, but when done right, both sides can reach new heights.
Wheelbarrows: Carrying More Than You Can Hold
A wheelbarrow is about efficiency and capacity. It allows you to carry more than your hands alone could handle.
In your business, this type of leverage could be automation, delegation, or scaling your operations.
It's about making your efforts go further, carrying more load with less strain.
Brooms: Be Wary of False Leverage
And then there's the broom.
At first glance, it seems kinda like a lever, right? Maybe?
But in the grand scheme of things, a broom provides limited leverage.
It's a cautionary tale: not all efforts give you the leverage you think they will.
This could be a strategy or tool that seems useful⌠but doesnât actually help you move forward. It's the time spent on a skill or project that doesn't align with your goalsâ
A false sense of progress.
Beware of the broom, folks. If you can identify and eliminate some of these âbroomâ tasks that are sucking up your time, youâll be well on your way to making more progress this year.
Knowing which tool to use and when is crucial to understanding leverage.
As always, itâs about working smarter, not harder.
Choosing the right form of leverage can mean the difference between spinning your wheels and climbing to new heights.
So, as we continue to build skills this year, let's also be mindful of the leverage we're employing. Are we balancing our efforts like a seesaw, efficiently carrying our load like a wheelbarrow, or are we mistakenly sweeping the floor with a broom, mistaking motion for progress?
Choose wisely.
Let's dive into the skills that arenât just going to fill your time, but actually fill your bank account and grow your business in 2025.
Remember, not all skills are created equal â some are like that broom, giving you the illusion of progress when you're just sweeping the same spot over and over.
Here are the ones that give you real, margin-making leverage:
1. Sales
Sales. It's the Swiss Army knife of business skills.
This isn't about being the slickest talker in the room.
It's about understanding needs, solving problems, and communicating value. And let me tell you, mastering sales is like having a magic wand in your business arsenal.
Start with the basics â understand your product or service inside out.
Then, learn about your customers as if they're characters in your favorite show. What makes them tick? What are their pain points?
Next, practice, practice, practice. Every single sales call you take is sharpening your Swiss Army Knife.
2. Listening
Next up, listening.
Not just hearing but really listening. This one directly feeds into your sales superpower. The two go hand-in-hand.
The best business ideas, improvements, and innovations come from actually listening to what your clients, customers, and team are saying.
Picture this â youâre in a meeting, the clientâs talking about their challenges, and instead of planning your next pitch, you truly listen.
Boom! You catch something no one else does and tailor your solution perfectly. Thatâs the power of active listening.
Bring this skill into your marriage and relationships, too.
3. Saying No
Lastly: the art of saying 'no'.
It's tough, right? We're entrepreneurs. We're wired to say 'yes'!
But every 'yes' is time, energy, and resources spent. Saying 'no' is like building a fortress around your time and energy, allowing you to focus on what really matters.
Think of 'no' as not just a rejection, but a strategic decision. Every time you say 'no' to something that doesn't align with your vision, you're saying 'yes' to your priorities and goals.
Youâre here to build a profitable business, not just a busy one.
Start saying 'no' to more things. Itâs not about being negative; itâs about being selective. Your time is your most precious resource. Protect it fiercely.
Remember, Margin Makers, building skills is a journey. Choose the right ones, and you'll find that they make your business journey easier AND more enjoyable.
Sales, listening, and saying 'no' â these are your tools for 2025. Use them wisely, and watch your business â and your spirit â soar!
To profiting more and working less. đ¸
