Silent nights = Strategy days

Silent nights = Strategy days

This week is packed with celebrations — Christmas tomorrow, followed by my grandpa's birthday on the 26th. It’s a whirlwind of joy, togetherness, and the perfect time to reflect and pause.

While Christmas is all about the magic of the moment, Grandpa’s birthday has always been a reminder of the power of stillness…

Taking a step back to appreciate where we’ve been and prepare for what’s ahead.

Today’s MM is about embracing both the festivities + the quiet moments in between.

It’s a chance to slow down, savor the season, and set the stage for a meaningful and successful 2025.

Today in 3 minutes or less:

✔️ Grandpa’s birthday wisdom

✔️ My framework for savoring the silence

🎂 GRANDPA’S BIRTHDAY WISDOM

Grandpa retired at the not-so-old age of 57.

His career as an engine tester at Boeing was noisy, to say the least. He was surrounded by jet engines (before they had safety protocols like ear protection). As a result, he had pretty severe hearing loss.

Yet, in the quiet of his world, he found profound clarity and purpose.

Grandpa’s early retirement wasn’t a stroke of luck but the result of meticulous planning and a keen understanding of when to pivot.

In the entrepreneurial world, where the noise of daily demands often drowns out our long-term vision, these skills are essential to our success.

Post-Christmas, the world seems to take a collective sigh. It's our cue to step back and see the big picture. Employees take time off. The world slows down.

That means less distraction, more action. Fewer calls, emails, and meetings mean more space for what really matters – strategic thinking and planning.

It’s a magical season for us as business owners… a rare opportunity to step back, regroup, and plan our next big moves.

It's our chance to gear up for a powerhouse 2025.

🤫 MY FRAMEWORK FOR SAVORING THE SILENCE

How can we take advantage of this time to set the stage for a more focused, and ultimately more successful new year?

The moments between Christmas and New Year’s are not just a time to unwind but a golden opportunity for us entrepreneurs to gear up and set goals.

I just shared a free training breaking down my annual planning framework. Here’s the outline:

1. Reflect

  • Goal Review: What were our goals last year? Did we hit the mark, or did we need to pivot?

  • Learning from Experience: What lessons did last year teach us? How can we turn our blind spots into insights? Remember, every setback is a setup for a comeback.

2. Align

  • Current Focus: What matters most to us now? Where can we carve out more time for what truly counts?

  • The Art of Saying No: Identify what we can let go of to make room for what really drives our business forward.

3. Dream

  • Aspirations for 2025: What are our ambitions for this year? Why do they matter to us?

  • Goal Visualization: Imagine our dreams in vivid detail – this is the fuel for our journey.

4. Plan

  • Blueprint for Success: What steps will turn our dreams into reality? What habits can we develop to support these goals?

  • Resource Allocation: Assess what we need in terms of time, money, and human resources. Define what success looks like for each goal.

5. Celebrate

  • Gratitude for Growth: Take a moment to appreciate last year's victories, no matter how small.

  • Focus on the Gains: Let's carry the positive momentum from our past successes into the new year.

Highly recommend this framework for mapping out all different kinds of margin… Creating space for growth and ease in your relationships, finances, business, emotions, and beyond.

The end of the year is our chance to declutter our thoughts, refine our strategies, and align our actions with our ambitions.

So, while the world may feel a little crazy leading up to Dec 25th, let's use this time to prepare for a year of resonating success.

Here’s to making Grandpa proud with our strategic silence turned into major business momentum. 🥳

And Merry Christmas Eve!

To profiting more and working less. 💸
